The “On God” hitmaker obtained a Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certification on August 8 for his contribution to Beyoncé’s “Already,” which sold more than 500,000 copies in the country.
On Beyoncé’s “The Lion King: The Gift,” the soundtrack album she produced for the 2019 photorealistic animated remake of “The Lion King,” the song “Already,” which features the American trio Major Lazer, was first made available. Then, on July 31, 2020, Disney Plus released Black Is King, a television film and visual accompaniment to the record.
The only other performers to accomplish this achievement are Shatta Wale and Ghanaian rapper Fuse ODG.
Fuse ODG obtained an RIAA Gold certification in 2020 for his work on the “Light It Up” Remix with Major Lazer and Nyla (Brick & Lace).
On March 1, 2017, ‘Light It Up’ Remix became Gold. On March 1, 2017, it became Platinum. As of September 15, 2021, it has since been 2x Multi-Platinum.
