The winning team at the 3rd edition of the ‘Y Clash of the DJs’; the Killa Squad from YFM-Kumasi has returned from their most anticipated Dubai prize trip.
The Killa Squad, with team members DJ Carcious, DJ Lexes and DJ Coleda racked up a total of 722 points to beat their contenders to reign supreme.
Returning from their four (4) day Dubai trip, the trio paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Global Media Alliance (GMA) Group, Mr. Ernest Boateng.
Mr. Ernest Boateng welcoming the DJs reiterated the GMA’s commitment to promote and increase performance of staff through reward schemes.
“As a company we seek to promote and increase performance through rewards and incentives. I believe you all had a good time and used the opportunity to learn something new,” he added.
The DJs who were thankful and elated about the Dubai trip expressed gratitude to the entire GMA Group for the recognition.
They described the trip as a good experience worth repeating and hope to retain their title, and enjoy another trip next year.
DJ Carcious speaking on behalf of the Killa Squad had this to say;
“If it is not YFM and GMA, you’ll not enjoy this kind of exposure. Most DJs are not even known and are relegated to the background in most media houses, but YFM and GMA provides us with the right platform to be known and recognized for our talent. The trip was an eye opener as we got the chance to enjoy new food, the desert safari and the belly dance.”
Sharing the Dubai DJing and nightclub scene, DJ Carcious described it as a bit more different than Ghana’s. “As DJs, we went to their clubs to know how it’s done and the genre of music they enjoy. They begin clubbing at 3am which is different from Ghana.”
DJ Carcious reiterated the Killa Squad’s appreciation to YFM and the entire GMA Group. “We are grateful that YFM has been good to DJs. It is only at YFM that we feel part of the team as DJs and we’re very grateful.
