Legendary English DJ and composer, DJ Semtex has disclosed that his recent record with Ghana’s blistering talent, Twitch 4Eva happens to be his first contact with a Ghanaian artiste on a record.
The world-renowned DJ recently released his latest music dubbed, “Scary” featuring the Ghanaian singer and LA-based Dreamville Rapper Cozz for the lovestruck sound.
In an interview with Y107.9 FM’s Kojo Manuel on the “Dryve of Your Lyfe”, DJ Semtex reiterated that despite having close and fruitful relations with friends of Ghanaian descent, he never encountered any in the music space until Twitch.
“My first contact with Ghana I’ll say is my good friend who goes by the name Swaye. We stayed together back in the day and he was my first contact with a Ghanaian but I’ve got a lot of Ghanaian friends out here and there are a lot of people out here from Ghana. But Twitch is the first Ghanaian artiste that I have done a record with so this is like a big deal for me and my relations to the Ghanaian community,” he said.”
“Earlier this year I came out to Ghana and we shot a video out there. I had a great time and a lot of fun so it was all vibes and dope for me,” he continued.
According to DJ Semtex, he had no expectations before he visited the West African county. However, his first experience amazed him as he felt at home.
“I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I came to Ghana, got off the plane and I was at Front Back and I saw all of my artiste friends in the club like Smallgod was there, Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Twitch obviously and anybody who was like warm and showed me love. They made me feel at home so like straight from London in the plane I felt a lot at home. So it was just an amazing experience and I thought I saw a lot of dope artistes over here and I loved it,” he added.
DJ Semtex earlier this year was in Ghana as he spend most of his time recording several tracks in Accra and familiarizing himself with Ghanaian artistes including Twitch 4EVA and Kwesi Arthur.
