Soul singer and Vodafone Icons 1st runner up, Verony music, has talked about how lockdown affected her creativity and inspired her new single.
Talking to host, Winston Micheals on Shouts on Y, she stated that the inspiration behind her new single ‘Alomo’ came during the lockdown when she was feeling very lonely and thinking about a lot of things.
“It was during the lockdown, I was feeling very lonely and I started imagining how my marital life was going to be like. I was wondering what I would do with my husband. He would be at work, I would just call him to check on him, send him a few photos, if I go out to buy dresses, I’ll come home and try them on and send him pictures just to disturb him and tease him a little bit”, she said.
Verony continued, “He comes home and I’ve laid the table with dinner served and all that, the lingerie stuff, all those dreams for the future, I just put them in the song so this song is dedicated to all married couples out there and all newly found lovers or newlyweds, old, young”.
According to the singer, love is a beautiful thing and it needs to be celebrated, hence, when she found herself wallowing in those thoughts, she thought it best to put it all in a song so that the people who relate can enjoy this jam.
Alomo, produced by Ugly Beats, was released a few weeks ago and is now available on all streaming platforms. Verony hinted that the video to the song will also be out in two weeks.
