Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bayport Savings and Loans, Akwasi Aboagye, has advised the youth not to prioritize any value above each other as they are all equally important in getting the best results in everything.
He was interviewed by host, Rev. Erskine on the Y-Leaderboard Series on YFM, where he was asked between integrity, hard work and commitment, which he is most likely to prioritize on a job or on any project.
He noted that he likes to look at things from a spectrum, hence, he cannot say integrity or either of these is more important than the other but rather, “You need to be able to marry everything together”, he said.
On that note, Akwasi advised that first and foremost, “You must work with a clean conscience which is integrity but you must also be committed. You must be committed and ready to put in the work”. He also mentioned that failure will come and it must come, however, beyond failing, it is important to learn not to allow failure to hold you back.
He added, “If you know me, you’ll know that one of my bad habits is working late. I don’t mind having to work late just to ensure that things get done so I won’t isolate one. I’ll just go back to my principle of stewardship which is making sure that the approach and direction in what you do is one that will ensure that there is always a more positive outcome”.
The CEO reiterated, “I won’t isolate one of those values and say I will put integrity ahead of hard work. I will look at it from a spectrum and say they must go together so that you can get the best out of yourself”.
